CIMAT Ugine, our subsidiary located in Savoie, specializing in industrial maintenance, has been awarded with the modernisation of the Tignes hydroelectric complex second phase by EDF : the replacement of the 2 butterfly valves.
On Septembre, 29st 2020, CIMAT Ugine has piloted the routing of one of the two new discharge gates, 180 m below the Dam’s crowning.
In 2018 and 2019, CIMAT Ugine had already intervened on the project as a 1st ranked subcontractor for the project preparatory work.
Counting on a 650 tons lattice crawler crane, with a 50 meters crane reach, our teams were able to control this exceptional handling operation in order to lift the 23 tons butterfly valve and place it at the foot of the dam.
The contract will continue with the replacement and commissioning of the 2nd butterfly valve in 2021.
